The KEY of POWER

The KEY of POWER

by Tanya

Feta once told a lie. Her lies got her friends killed. Her remorse drove her insane. She ended up in a mental hospital on the outskirts of town. She managed to kill herself. When she died, the Darkness didn't accept her: too pure of heart. The Light didn't accept her either: too sinful. A light angel told her that if one day she could save those she cared about, she would be free. Feta returned to the orphanage as a ghost. She could walk through walls, but she couldn't lift a feather. How can you save someone when you are so weak? Feta's ghost settled in the basement, where it was dark and quiet. Gradually she got used to her ghostly invisible body. She grew to love the inhabitants of the mental hospital, many of them she understood. One day she saw demons in the basement who were plotting something terrible. The demons were hungry and weak and longed to drink all the astral souls of all the lunatics. This would make them powerful. The demons came up with the idea of blowing up the heating system and pouring boiling water into the rooms of the sick, who would die of terror, hot steam and boiling water. Feta wanted to scream, but she couldn't: she was a ghost. She did not wish such a fate for those she loved. With all her ghostly soul she prayed for help from the Higher Powers for the inhabitants of this strange place. And help came in the form of an unusual key of power: it was a magic wrench. This wrench could give Fete back her human body. If this wrench could open the faucet and drain the hot water, the demons' plans would be destroyed. But would a weak girl standing knee-deep in boiling water be able to accomplish what they had planned? Personally, I find that hard to believe. Do you want to know how this story ends?
